Welcome to Wonderfully Made Woman
Our charity is founded, governed and run by women with "lived experience" of trauma. All trustees have lived experiences of significant adversity. Integral to our entire ethos is that our services are developed and delivered by volunteers who have benefited from our support. Their unique experiences ensure that everyone we support feels understood by somebody "like me."
All activities are designed and delivered by beneficiaries and considered to be of the highest standard as evidenced by receiving the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services this year, the equivalent of an MBE for voluntary groups.
We support women and girls (aged 10 and over), regardless of their ethnicity, in some of the most deprived localities within Greater Manchester e.g. single, single mothers, widows and married women with little or no income, to improve their mental, emotional and physical wellbeing, rebuild confidence, learn financial and IT life skills to enable them to live independent lives, enter employment and education, build peer support networks, access specialist support, and have a voice in decision making.
Many of the women we deal with have experienced significant adversity, such as domestic abuse, female genital mutilation and are afraid to speak out to avoid being sent back to their native country or lose their children. They also struggle to seek and engage with support due to language or cultural barriers and are extremely socially isolated and vulnerable.
We need your help to make the store a success by making purchases to allow us to continue to change the lives of women in our community to enable them to live happy and healthy lives.
